Stretch Marks: I found a few more tiny ones. :( They're on my sides though. Not my stomach which surprised me.
Sleep: Same as last week...better. Hips are not hurting as bad. I can't stay on one side all night or they will hurt so I move back and forth a lot or prop myself up with lots of pillows and sleep sitting up. I am still up around 4:30 every night for a good hour. Then I fall back asleep for another few hours, thank goodness!
Best moment of the week? I'm sure it will be tomorrow when we have our 3D ultrasound! I'll post more about it later.
Movement: Lots! I definitely think she is getting used to a sleep pattern. I won't feel another for an hour or so and worry. But my doctor said it's very common for them to sleep and you can't feel anything for a while.
Food cravings: Iced tea...as much as I hate to say it my home brewed tea is just not the same as McDonald's half cut. But there's no caffeine in my home tea, so that's better.
Food aversions: Grilled chicken still...ew.
Belly button in or out? In...stay in baby!!
What I miss: I feel like as soon as I hit 30 weeks my body really started feeling it. It's a little harder to get out of the low car. I get tired easier. Just overall is taking more of a toll on me. I know it's just going to get worse but pray that I can make it through the first two weeks of school!
What I'm looking forward to: 3D ultra sound, appointment next week, and baby showers!
Milestones: 31 weeks! Nothing too big other than that!
Nursery: We have a crib! It's not up and won't be until the beginning of August or until we (hopefully) move. Emily and I were at Pottery Barn Kids and the floor model was on sale. It was in excellent condition except for a few small marks (which they gave us a paint marker for). My parents wanted to get the crib for us so I called my mom and told her about this amazing deal that was about 40% off. So, they went and picked it up the next day. I'm super excited to have it in our home!!
Classes: Baby care class in August
Next appointment: July 2.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Did you have a 3D ultrasound? If so, what did you think of it? Did the baby look like anything you thought s/he would? {Note: I don't think most 3Ds look like the baby but I could be wrong}.
I used to think that these 3D ultrasounds were pretty cool. Several of my friends got them and they looked sort of creepy but cool. Then I took an infant Development class and found out that they don't really know how these affect children. Regular ultrasound is based on high frequency sound waves so no risk there but the added technology may or may not be harmful. Of course the doctors recommend it because they spend tons of money on the equipment and try to make it back (I'm a healthcare provider and have a good idea of how this works). I did some research and it seems like they just have not been using it long enough to know the full effects. There is no solid data that shows any damage but it takes some time to collect it. I have never been pregnant so don't know how it feels to await something so special but if you asked me today I'd probably say no. Remember they used to give pregnant women thalidomide for nausea and how did that work out...That being said, I am not trying to scare you in any way, it is probably perfectly safe, I am just recommending that you do some research on your own, better safe than sorry.
ReplyDeleteOMG really anonymous????? I had a 3D ultrasound and loved it! I thought Emerson looked a lot like her ultrasound. And I have PLENTY of friends that had 3Ds and there kids grew up healthy, happy, and just fine. Sheesh, everyone worries too much these days! Can't wait to see the 3D pics!!!! So exciting!!?
ReplyDeleteHappy 31 weeks! I have my appointment tomorrow, too. Hope yours goes well!
ReplyDeleteI had 3D ultrasounds done with my girls, but honestly, I thought they looked kind of creepy. I have seen a few good ones, though!
