I've really been trying to cut down on the grocery bill and using Leslie's way of shopping from your pantry. This is harder for me because I enjoy planning meals. So I've been doing a bit of both. I did shop at Wal.mart last week (our least favorite place ever) and spent $100. I felt really bad because I wanted to spend $60 or less. Then I went home and realized that $100 made us eight freezer meals plus lunches/snacks for the week. That's pretty good if I do say so myself.
With baby girl coming in a little over a month freezer meals have been on my mind non-stop. But I know that it will be totally worth spending the extra time with H and J rather than worrying about what's for dinner. It will also (hopefully) cut down on grocery runs with a baby.

I think you are very smart doing this before baby. I would like to do a few meals to stick in the freezer before school starts. I hate coming home after school and trying to put dinner together. I wish I had more freezer space.
ReplyDeleteI plan to do this in August to prep for baby so I will definitely check these recipes out. Did you link up with Kelly's Korner? Lots of freezer meals over there today!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you took the time now to do it now. It's going to be such a blessing once the baby comes!
