Five on Friday: First time mom

I've decided to devote this Five on Friday to being a first time mom because I learn something(s) every single day.

TIME! I have zero time. My cousin came over today and I finally finished unpacking my hospital bag (gasp!) and put my laundry away that has been piling up. I do get small things done during the day but it all depends on Hadley's mood. Sometimes I get 20 minutes; sometimes an hour or two. I will never take my time for granite again.

Hadley turned five weeks on Monday. I still haven't done her one month post. Note number one above and time. I'm quickly typing this while she is sleeping in her swing. I also was able to unload the dishwasher. Score!!

I've decided that if I tell too many people about one thing it will bite me in the behind. For example, so far H has been a really calm baby. She fusses sometimes but never had any meltdowns. That chapter has ended. On Tuesday night she screamed (very loudly) for two hours. She chilled out for about 20 minutes, to watch the colors on Dancing with the Stars, then started screaming again. Wednesday night was a little better but there was still some screaming. I will never talk about her being a calm, mellow child because I don't want to jinx it. No matter what she's still a wonderful baby and we are very thankful for her and her health.

It's amazing how the days fly by but the weeks are so slow. I'll never figure this out. But I'm enjoying every minute with my sweet girl.

Hadley has started to smile for us. She's the happiest in the mornings. It's the sweetest thing! I took her five week picture and she looks so silly. This isn't her normal smile but it just cracks me up!

  1. Hadley is absolutely ADORABLE!!!! I'm a mom of 2 so I TOTALLY understand this post :-) I'm hoping she grows out of those crying spurts for you.

  2. Love that big cheesy smile in the last picture! And your blocks with the number of weeks are soo cute!

  3. found you on the linkup and am so excited to follow along now!! yay!!

your little one is ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS!! aaaaadorable!

    happy weekend, love!

  4. I gotta say your daughter is ADORABLE!
I'm so glad I found you on the link up and after reading your about me I must say Go Bucks!! I am about a hour north of you :)

  5. Aw, too cute! I hope she mellows for you everyday!

  6. Congrats on your newborn! Isn't it THE BEST?!?

  7. Oh my goodness, the face in that last picture...I love it!

  8. Harper went through that at about that age. Every night, right around dinner time she would just scream histarically for two hours. It was maddening. We finally rented the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD and it changed our lives. You can search for clips on youtube. The whole stage lasted maybe two weeks, but it seemed like forever. We used the tips from the video for a good six months though.
