So What Wednesday!

I've been waiting for SSW since Sunday...

So what if...
So What Wednesday
  • I cried over a glider this weekend. When I look back now it was stupid. But I am hormonal. I just want baby girl's room to be nice.
  • I'm obsessed with the Pioneer Woman. I want to be here when I grow up.
  • Aside from the rocker, I was also melting down because there were two dogs in a hot truck with the window only cracked. Stupid people!! You bet I wrote a note and left it on the car.
  • If I told J and my mom 100 times that stores need to have a variety of rockers in stock...for people like me who can't make up their mind and wait for the last minute. I might even open a store of just all kinds of gliders you can take home that day.
  • I called the police on a person with a puppy in the car last Thursday. It was so hot out and the window was just cracked. She went into the Sprint store and was there for 20 minutes before I called. 20 minutes later the police came. They just made her roll down her windows. Stupid. The poor dog was in the car over an hour! HORRIBLE! Why don't people get it?
  • I feel like a balloon. The swelling is for the birds. But at least I'm still feeling good and still so very thankful!
  • I love SWW. Sometimes you just need a good cry and good vent.

One month: to do list

I cannot believe that yesterday marked one month until my due date. Holy cow. Where did the time go?! Now I will be the first to say that I totally live in my own little bubble however I know that due date doesn't mean baby. In fact, if she could come after my due date, I would be extra grateful! August 31st would be great Miss H! {*wink*}

August is a busy month. I try to finish up last minute summer projects, getting the house ready to go back to school, getting my classroom ready, and planning for the year. On top of that, we have a baby coming. Another human in our home! So busy is an understatement. I already changed my calendar to August and only have a few empty days, which I'm sure will be filled with working at school.

Thankfully this weekend my parents, J and I went to town on the nursery. It's about 75% done. But I still feel like there is a ton to do. So J and I made a list of everything that has to get done. It's one big list but we each have our own separate "to dos".

J is in blue; I'm in pink; Both in green

Deep clean of the house (hiring someone)
Finish nursery
Power wash trash cans and recycling bins
Power wash/clean out garage
Weed yard...again
Finish putting together baby stuff (swing, bouncer)
Install car seats
Pack bag (I'm done with this!)
Organize bathroom cabinets
Get classroom ready
Sub plans
Finish freezer meals
Clean up basement (laundry is nuts)
Meal plan for first two weeks of school
Grocery shopping-big stock up
Finish thesis

I'm determined to have everything on this list done before baby girl gets here. Really we don't have a choice. It's driving me crazy that baby stuff is in the garage and J can't get his car in there, so it needs put together and put away in the house.

My classroom is a whole other story. That's going to just take time. My cousin is an early childhood major and will be helping me out...she's amazing! There are just some things I can't psychically do, which makes it hard. But a lot of it is just going through papers and having everything organized for my sub (which I don't have yet).

And poor J, on top of everything at home his goal is to get his masters thesis done before H arrives. I'm praying that he is done within the next two weeks. He's been working so hard and I don't want to push him but I know he will feel better if it is turned in and he doesn't have to worry about that on top of a new baby. Please say a pray for him that he can stay motivated and get it done!

I hope I'm not forgetting anything big...and if I am, oh well! Nothing ever works out the way we plan. I just want a healthy baby so whatever I have to do to get there, I will do. Now we just have to wait and get done as much as we can!

1 month!

Menu Monday

Today I'm linking up with two fun blogs!

&

Here is what we ate last week!

TPW_4583
Totally forgot to take a picture so you get this delicious looking one!

I had a different meal plan but I didn't have enough basil. So this was plan B! It was delicious and pretty easy to make. I just love Ree, don't you?!

Bang Bang Chicken

I've made this two other times here and here.
I only make this once a month because it's kind of a pain to make and it smells the whole house up. J loves it though so I try make him happy :)

Wednesday night we went to our first restaurant week restaurant. We decided to try the Melting Pot! It was very good. Next time I think we will definitely just go for dessert. But I really enjoyed eating our meal slowly and spending time together.

I've never had this before but made one for a friend and one for J and I. It looked pretty yummy! It's another P.W. recipe....of course!

AND

Chicken Tortilla Roll Ups
Original recipe but I changed it to make it easier...I think.

Ingredients:

1/4 of an onion
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons of lime juice
1/2 to 3/4 cups of plain Greek yogurt (I made ours a little more dry)
1 can Rotel tomatoes with jalapenos
3 chicken breasts (mine were medium size)
half of bag of Mexican Cheese
tortilla shells

Ingredients when cooking:

Olive oil
dried cilantro
chili pepper

Directions:

1) Cook chicken (I boiled mine) and shred

2) In a large mixing bowl add chicken, onion, cumin, garlic powder, lime juice, yogurt, Rotel, and cheese. Still together really good. You can add more cheese or yogurt if needed.

3) Spoon mixture into soft tortilla shells and roll with seem down in baking dish

4) Once shells are rolled, place baking dish in freezer until tortillas are frozen. Once they are frozen, I like to move mine to a zip lock bag so they take up less room.

To Cook:

1) Take 1/3 cup of oil, dried cilantro and chili powder and mix in a bowl.

2) Place frozen tortillas on a cookie sheet. Spread oil mixture on frozen tortillas.

3) Bake at 350* for 8-10 minutes. They might need longer because they're frozen (I've never frozen them before, just made them). Watch them carefully and flip them over if necessary.

Diaper Bag 101...Educate me!

I'm in need of some education in regards to diaper bags.

My sister is 10 years younger than me. Therefore When I when we adopted her I was in 4th grade and I remember everything. I remember her stroller, the clothes she wore, her pajamas, and her big honking diaper bag. Ten years later, things have changed drastically!

I'm in a diaper bag tornado. I love the Skip Hop Duo Deluxe and would like to purchase it. However, I'm concerned it won't be big enough.

headset
Here's what I'm thinking...

I will always keeps an extra outfit or two, extra diapers/wipes, extra blankets and extra shirt for me in the car.

1) When we go on outings we usually are not gone all day. We will run an errand or two and be out for a few hours. I think this diaper bag would be perfect for things like that. It can hold a bottle or two or nursing cover, extra onesie, diapers, wipes, cream, burp cloth, hand sanitizer, pacifiers?, and changing pad.

2) If we do go father to visit family (my parents are 22 minutes and J's are 90 minutes away) we can still bring that diaper bag but put extra in the car or I can use my Vera Bag.

3) If we're going on an over night trip she would definitely get her own larger bag and we could fill the diaper bag with all bottles if we had to. {I am planning to nurse but these are just scenarios}

4) The sitter will always have plenty of diapers, wipes, and an emergency bottle at her house along with a change of clothing so we don't have to constantly bring everything back and forth.

When I look online to find "what do you put in your diaper bag" some people have lists a mile long! Do I really need all of that stuff for an outing to Target or HobLob? If I always keep extra in the car do I need an entire outfit in the bag or can I get away with just a onesie until we make it back outside? I know once it snows I won't want to go back outside, but honestly, I'm sure we'll be homebodies this winter with a young baby!

Is there anything big I'm missing? Do you have the Skip Hop Duo Deluxe? How do you like it? Is it big enough?

Any information is greatly appreciated for this first time mama!

Five on Friday!

Screen Shot 2013-06-14 at 2.31.52 PM

{one}

The nursery is taped up and sanded. Tomorrow will be primer and Saturday paint. I'm so excited to get all of this stuff put together and put away! I feel like I have baby things coming out of the walls! Next week will be spent finishing up the room and organizing. Then it's back to school!

{two}

I'm obsessed with Essie nail polish. Really, who isn't? I love how smooth and clean it goes on. I can actually paint both hands with it. Today I went on a little Target trip (yes, $30 little), and bought one of their new colors, Sunday Funday. I love it! It's the perfect pink-orange. Definitely out of my pink box but sometimes you just need a change!

{three}

I really wanted to go on a mini-vacation this summer but that didn't happen. So we're trying do some fun things here and there in town. Wednesday night we went to a nice dinner at The Melting Pot. It was very good. J and I both enjoyed the time together more than anything and the dessert. We're usually in and out of a restaurant in an hour but we spent two and a half hours there. It was so nice to relax and talk...not just about the baby, which is easy to do. We have two more things planned but I hope to come up with an additional two or three more. Gotta enjoy our date nights while we can!

{four}

The weather has been beautiful! Seriously. I don't even know if it got much hotter than 80* today. I had the a/c off for a bit (I couldn't handle it for too long) with the windows open. I'm loving this weather and feel so thankful that it's not 90*+ humidity out anymore. Hot and pregnant is not cool.

amazing

{five}

My HTC Droid has been a major pain in the behind. It will no longer charge with a cord. So I have to take the battery out and  charge the battery then put it back in the phone. J has the same problem. We have three batteries and one charger between the two of us. Not cool when your husband takes two of the three batteries and charger to work and forgets them there for two days. NOT COOL. I miss my phone. Guess who will be visiting J's work today to pick up the charger--this girl.

I did go to Sprint today and they're sending me a new phone. I basically told them I don't care what they give me but that I'm 9 months pregnant and need something. Since I have insurance they're sending me a new one. I should have done this two months ago but hate waiting in line (left the store twice). Hopefully after Monday I'll not have to worry about this anymore. Never knew I'd miss my phone so much. #pathetic

Bumpdate: 35 weeks

How big is baby? The size of a coconut! I've wanted to be at the beach all summer so this just sounds relaxing.

Maternity ClothesYep...although I have a few regular dresses that fit.

Stretch Marks: A few small ones on my sides.

Sleep: Some nights are better than others. I've been sleeping through the night better but often up at 5 or 6 am. Better than 3 am! It's also been harder to roll over! I feel ridiculous at times but know it's not going to be getting better for a while. Totally worth it though!

Best moment of the week? Still thrilled with both of my baby showers. I posted about my hometown shower here and will post very soon about my other shower (need to get the pictures). It was fun to go to another doctors appointment too. Is it weird that I still get excited for these?

Movement: I've been playing a lot of music lately, especially when on the computer. She's constantly moving to that, which is fun. I hope she is musical like J and I.

Food cravings: I seriously could have eaten a hamburger every day this week but I didn't.  I actually didn't even have one! The only kind that sounded good was Culver's with everything loaded on it. Homemade did not sound good. If you know me this is big because we don't eat a lot of red meat!

Food aversions: Chicken but we still ate it last night. One of those times where you have to eat and I wasn't giving in to junk food.

Belly button in or out? In...but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel...meaning I can see where it might flatten. This scares me horribly!

What I miss: Nothing really. The weather has cooled down again and I'm so thankful! I definitely have to go to the bathroom all the time which is annoying but I can think of 949230 things that could be worse! {it would be so much better if we had a half bath on the first floor!}

What I'm looking forward to: Going to BuyBuyBaby this weekend to get a few things off the registry we didn't get at our showers, finding (hopefully) a chair for the nursery, and spending time with J.

Milestones:  When I was at the doctor yesterday I schedule the rest of my appointments up until my due date. CRAZY!! Only five left!

Nursery: The painting process is slow but coming along. I know everyone is busy right now so I hate to be a pain about it getting painted but I have to go back to school in two weeks and it needs to be done! It should be by this weekend! :)

Classes: Baby care class and tour in August!

Next appointment: August 6th, then I start going weekly!

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: We talk to our doctor about the labor and delivery process at our next appointment. Anything specific I should ask? My big thing is when will I know I need to go to the hospital, especially if my water doesn't break. I know a lot of people have told me, "you'll just know" but I don't want to be there 10 times with false labor! Also I hope she doesn't think we're too crazy with our birth plan! :)

So What Wednesday!

So What Wednesday

Today I'm saying So What If...

  • Our fair and Jazz and Ribs fest plans were a total flop. Thank you very much rain.

  • I went to visit my friend Katie in the hospital while she was in (early stages of) labor and I was panicking on the way there. I kept thinking, OMG I'M NEXT!

  • I asked J to bring me fresh basil and he brought me an entire basil plant. Yep. He thought it would save money in the long run, however it didn't even give me a cup of basil which I needed for the recipe.

  • Baby shower stuff is still all over the spare room. Waiting on paint!!

  • I'm obsessed with Pioneer Woman recipes. Seriously. I make at least two a week. Minimum.

  • I used to think Dr. Phil was trash and now I kind of like it. I think I've been watching too much Real Housewives.

  • My dad asked my mom if we were having a "Sip 'n Tip" party for Hadley. Um...not quite. Let's try Sip 'n SEE!

Hadley's Baby Shower!

We are so thankful to have such wonderful family members and friends that helped celebrate our baby girl! A little over a week ago I had two baby showers...yes, in the same weekend! I had one that was hosted by J's sister and aunt on Saturday. Then on Sunday I had one hosted by my aunt, sister, and cousin. They were both beautiful showers! I really could not have asked for anything more and are so thankful for both.

Last month I posted this inspiration board based on my baby shower invitations (for Sunday's shower) and today I want to share some of the great photos with you.
{I will be posting about Saturday's shower as soon as I get the pictures!}

or you can find them on my pinterest baby shower page

Sunday's shower was held at the beautiful Heritage Golf Club. We had our wedding reception here so it was so special to have our baby shower here as well!

To start off, my mom ordered these beautiful invitations from Tiny Prints. They were simple and elegant. She also ordered these stickers. I was kind of confused how it would tie in together but they did! The stickers were used as "thank yous" on the favors. Every guest left with a bottle of Bath and Body Works Hand Sanitizer. Such a great idea. You can see them wrapped on the table in the images below.

Invitation and Welcome sign.

The shower revolved around the Tiny Prints invitation and stickers. Pink, yellow, and orange colors along with damask were used throughout the room which was pulled from the invitation. The buggy and colors on the sticker were tied into the cake.

When you walked into the room you could see pops of pink and yellow

Yellow flowers with yellow damask around the vase

Pink flower with pink damask around the face

The yummy dessert table with petit fours, Cheryl's flower cookies (in apothecary jars), and cake.

Delicious cake from Crumbz Cakery. Love the buggy on top which was perfect with the stickers.

We also sipped on delicious pink lemonade

And had a wonderful lunch of veggies, salad, mini chicken salad & egg salad sandwiches, and homemade potato chips. The food was outstanding.

I didn't know that my favorite part of the shower would happen after the shower was over. Tiny Prints has new games especially made for baby showers. They are amazing! You can find my original post on the games here. I chose the Hopes game and we called it "Hopes for Hadley". These cards are my favorite because they are such a keepsake and something so close to my heart. I came home after the shower and read each one with lots of tears! I cannot wait for Hadley to read them one day. These Tiny Print shower games are a must for all new moms!

This was from my sister! She cracks me up and is so excited to be an aunt.

Not only am I thankful for this beautiful shower and everyone who came but I'm thankful for Tiny Prints and how they inspired this shower. Everything came together so beautifully and it was perfect for our sweet girl.

Menu Monday

Last week was kind of slow for dinner. I can't seem to remember why either, which is just sad. I'm pretty sure everything else I made was just a repeat of something already posted. Nothing exciting. Sorry!

One night last week I made homemade pizza rolls. They were delish! I found them on Pinterest but it took me several clicks to find the recipe. So here is a quick guide:

Ingredients:
Crescent rolls
4 Cheese sticks (cut in half)
Pepperoni

Topping:
2 Tablespoons Butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
1 Tablespoon Parmesan cheese, grated

Pizza sauce (optional)
Ranch Dressing (optional)

First, rolls out crescent rolls. Place pepperonis down first with 1/2 cheese stick on top

Roll it up!

Turn in corner (or you can do this before you roll)

Bake at 350* for 15 minutes
I baked corn along with them so they took more like 20

Once they are done, brush the butter mixture on top. I put them back in the oven just for a few more minutes so it could soak in.

Carefully remove from oven and enjoy with pizza sauce or ranch!

Note: My cheese didn't melt very well, so I put it under the broiler for about 2 minutes and that helped. I think because I used the low fat cheese--that's all I had.

One thing that really drew me to this recipe was that you can freeze these separately. So let's say I'm home by myself and J is back to work, I have lunch! Although I'm pretty sure I'll be eating a bunch of deli turkey and chicken after H is born. I miss it!

A good friend of mine is having her baby as we speak and I made some of these for her and her husband as well. Super easy and delicious!

SUYL: Freezer Meals

I've been the crazy freezer meal lady lately. I make 1-2 freezer meal recipes per week. For examples, last week I made Pioneer Woman's lasagna (yumm) and make 4 meals out of doubling the recipe. Since it's just me and J, I can usually get two meal per one recipe, which is great!!

I've really been trying to cut down on the grocery bill and using Leslie's way of shopping from your pantry. This is harder for me because I enjoy planning meals. So I've been doing a bit of both. I did shop at Wal.mart last week (our least favorite place ever) and spent $100. I felt really bad because I wanted to spend $60 or less. Then I went home and realized that $100 made us eight freezer meals plus lunches/snacks for the week. That's pretty good if I do say so myself.

With baby girl coming in a little over a month freezer meals have been on my mind non-stop. But I know that it will be totally worth spending the extra time with H and J rather than worrying about what's for dinner. It will also (hopefully) cut down on grocery runs with a baby.

You can find my freezer meals every posted every Monday on my Menu Monday posts.

My freezer meal of the weeks posts are pretty new (started 4 weeks ago). So keep checking back with my Menu Mondays to see the new freezer meals to come! I also plan on doing one big post at the very end with all the meals I've made.

Pinterest is an amazing place to find freezer meals. Here are some of my pins I definitely want to try!

Many of these crockpot meals can be frozen

Bumpdate: 34 weeks!

How big is baby? The size of a butternut squash...or a melon as it said on my phone.
Maternity ClothesYep...although I have a few regular dresses and tops that fit.

Stretch Marks: A few small ones on my sides.

Sleep: Still waking up between 4:30 and 5:00am but going back to sleep much easier. I've been pretty tired lately. Trying to do as much as I can during the day!

Best moment of the week? Definitely the baby showers. I promise to post pictures soon. I'm waiting on my sister to get them to me because they're on her SD card.

Movement: Still kicks and jabs but quiet around anyone other than J and I. She's also been laying on my left side a lot. Especially when I lay on my left side to sleep. Sometimes I wonder how she gets that far to the side!

Food cravings: Nothing really this week.

Food aversions: Nothing sounds good again. I think it's because it's SO HOT!

Belly button in or out? In...stay in baby!!

What I miss: Nothing really. Not swelling! That's been big this week with 90*+ humidity. It feels like its around 102*+ outside. Not cool. Sad my wedding rings don't fit anymore either :(

What I'm looking forward to: Doctors appointment next week. I'm supposed to go every other week but my doctor is on vacation this week. So I went from every 4 weeks to 3 weeks then after that I think I'll start going weekly.  Oh my goodness!

Milestones:  34 weeks. That seems like a lot and really close!

Nursery: New carpet is in...wahoo!! My dad is planning to start painting tomorrow! Hoping to get most of it done next week :)

Classes: Baby care class and tour in August!

Next appointment: Next week!

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Any advise for setting up the nursery? I'm a bit overwhelmed with everything from the showers. Also, any good diaper bag recommendations? I'm thinking the SkipHop, but not sure if I want to spend that much.

So What?

So What Wednesday

Today I'm saying so what if...

  • My house is a complete disaster. Especially upstairs. We are getting to carpet in Hadley's room today so everything is in our room or the spare room.

  • The spare room is covered with baby stuff. Seriously. I have a hard time getting in. Guess what I'll be doing over the next few days?!

  • I'm a teeny bit sad to give up some cabinet space for bottles and bibs. Cabinet space is limited in our home and I have a lot of platters and bowls. Haven't quite figured out what I'm going to do with it yet.

  • I'm having the most difficult time ever finding a glider we want. $500 is a lot of money and I want to make sure I love it and get a good discount.

  • I start back at school in about three weeks and I've done nothing this summer to prepare. Oh and I still don't have a sub.

  • If the new content standards totally suck. I hate the 5th grade socialstudies commoncore and don't even want to look at them. Thank you Ohio...oh wait, you haven't told us what we need to teach yet so never mind. {sorry if you totally don't get this}

  • If we're going to the fair and Jazz and Rib Fest this weekend. That might mean funnel cakes, french fries and I really hope roasted corn. I'll just have to do extra  loads of laundry and sprint up and down the steps (not going outside in 100+ weather).

Getting your pets ready for a baby

I've read a lot about how to prepare your pets furbabies for your new human baby. And really I don't think there is one specific thing you can do. They have no idea what they're in for (and neither do we)! Oliver and Wembley have been our children for the past 4 years and we can't imagine them not being number one. So here are a few things we are doing to prepare our little monsters.

  • Familiarize Oliver and Wembley with Hadley's things. Any time something comes in the mail or I bring something home I show them. Now, maybe this is because I'm home with them all summer and don't have a lot of human interaction during the day, but I think it helps that they get to see and smell the new things that come in. Once the clothes are washed they will be hung up so they (especially Wembley) can't get into them.
  • Invite them into her nursery. I don't want them to feel left out, especially Oliver. He gets his feelings hurt easily. Yes, I know he is a dog. Once we have her nursery up and running we plan on inviting him in to lay down while we just relax in the chair. We might even put one of his beds in there to feel included. {Note: Oliver being included is really important to me}
  • There's no way around it. Wembley is a sh!t. If you follow me on Instagram or have read any of my Oliver and Wembley posts, you know this. I'm constantly yelling at him because he's always into something. He's is a great cat--don't get me wrong. But he is way too smart for his own good. He's the third cat I've had in my life and he's completely different from the others. He's a climber--the other two were not. This is new to me because he's on everything. I hate cats on the counter. My biggest worry with him is Hadley in her crib. So we are going to prepare him early on! My mom discovered these things called Ssscats a few years ago. OMG. They're amazing. I'm not going to lie. They're expensive but they are totally worth it! Basically they're a can of air with a magic eye. When a cat gets near it, it sprays the cat. Wembley hates them unlike aluminum foil and clear tape (we learned the hard way). So if I have to spend $75 every six months then it's worth it! That will get you quite a few too! We will have Ssscats in H's crib, on her dresser, and on changing table. If it gets really bad he will not be allowed in the room. I would never do anything to harm Wembley. He's so noisy and I don't want him hurting anything or anyone.

I could watch these videos all day. Wembley does not react like this. He just jumps down.

  • We definitely plan on J bringing home Hadley's baby blanket after she is born so they can smell her scent. We've heard how important this is and definitely want to do it before she comes home.
  • Pretend baby is something we play sometimes. I will literally get a blanket and ball it up and pretend it is a baby. I will talk to it and hold it. I won't let O & W jump and look but ask them nicely to sit beside me. Usually W doesn't care after the first five seconds but O always wants to watch. This gets them use to seeing me holding something. We also will play baby cries from you.tube. Neither one are bothered or even realize what is going on, so that part will be interesting!

Oliver and Wembley have both been around babies; Oliver more than Wembley. They both have done so well and ignore the baby after a little while. I'm not really worried about either being hurtful towards Hadley what-so-ever. They are such loving animals and have been glued to me since day one. I'm excited to see their love for their new sister.

Any other advice for getting our furbabies ready?

Menu Monday

Here are our dinners from last week!

Shredded Chicken Sandwiches

This was a major fail. My grandma makes the best shredded chicken and I tried to make them like her but it didn't work out. I did end up calling her after I made them and I know what I did wrong. I'll try again in a few weeks and then give you the recipe!

J's sandwich

My sandwich--ailoi underneath

The real Outback sandwich--Mine were pretty darn close!

These were delicious!! The only thing I would do differently is to get one filet instead of the kind of steak I bought. The meat was okay but in the rare occurrence we actually eat steak (which is never) I might as well buy the best. The aioli and au jus was delicious!! {I eat most of my sandwiches open faced}

Along with the sandwiches I made homemade skillet focaccia bread. I know...call me Martha. It totally made the sandwich. I thought it was a little harder than normal focaccia bread but it was perfect to dunk in the au jus.

As for the au jus, you can find the recipe here, the same place as the sandwich recipe. However, I didn't have french onion soup. So I had to change the recipe a bit but it was still amazing:

1 can beef broth
1 can water
1 packet of dry onion soup

The third night we were supposed to have fancy grilled cheese but instead we had pizza. It just sounded amazing--and it was.

On Thursday Josh worked late and I had a left over steak sandwich...yummy!!

So my freezer meal of the week didn't start off too well. I had decided to make Pioneer Woman's lasagna. Yum. So I took all my stuff over to my parents to make it there. Why? Well 1) I needed cheese from the farmer's market which is right down the street and 2) I promised my mom I'd make her a tray of it. The fact that they have a huge kitchen is a bonus too. I ended up making 4 half trays of lasagna. YAY! That gives us four big servings which is plenty for J and I and it also gives us left overs.

I brought most of the stuff I needed for the lasagna including the cooking "tools". I needed a can opener to open the tomatoes so after searching I finally found one. Well, not all can openers are the same and I could not figure out the one she had. I kept making all these dents in the can but nothing would open it! Finally I gave up.

But I got it open!!

Thankfully I found a normal can opener a short while later and the rest of the cans were good to go.

I'm so excited to make some corn for dinner next week. LOVE corn season!
