Bumpdate: 29 weeks

How big is baby? The size of an acorn squash. I've never seen one of these in person, so I'll take the bump's word on it.

Maternity ClothesYep.

Stretch Marks: Still up to two...and a big scratch from Wembley, but I'm good.

Sleep: Eh, okay. Hips still hurt. I've been trying to keep busy during the day so I'm really tired at night. That's been helping but I still wake up several times. 4:30am seems to be my new wake up time. I'm up for at least an hour then I can usually fall back asleep...thank goodness!

Best moment of the week? Not receiving a call from the doctor meaning I passed my glucose test. I seriously did a happy dance!! I was such a drama queen about it (I'll admit to that) but I'd rather overly worry and expect bad news. It makes it easier to handle.

Movement: Lots of jabs and kicks. She loves to hide out in my ribs on the right side. However if I'm around other people she will stop moving. It's like she hears other voices besides mine and J's and just won't move. I must say it's a positive thing for me because I hate people touching me! (personal space issue)

Food cravings: Iced tea still and vegetables. I've been making salads every day for lunch and made a homemade dressing. They've been delicious!!

Food aversions: No aversions nothing sounds good but veggies, but I still meal plan and stick to it. Otherwise we would have a mess on our hands!

Belly button in or out? In...praying it doesn't pop.

What I miss: Not having hip pain and sleeping well. Overall so thankful of all the positives during this pregnancy. I know there is still a lot of things left to go through so I'm not going to live in my happy cloud but I pray for everything else to go as smoothly.

What I'm looking forward to: I have two showers next month. One on a Saturday and the other the following day on Sunday. To say I'll be exhausted is an understatement. I saw my friend Katie at her shower last weekend and felt so bad for her. She said it took her a few days to recover. I'm also looking forward to hopefully selling our home, getting into a new home, and getting started on Hadley's room. All of these things are weeks away but I'm still excited!

Milestones:  29 weeks; passed glucose test; some braxton hicks contractions

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: The bump said that I should pack my hospital bag this week, just in case. Really? This seems a bit early to me. I was thinking like 32-35 weeks. What do you think?

  1. I'm confused about half of the fruits on the bump. I feel like they repeat and then get smaller sometimes, too. I'm only 25 weeks now, but I plan to pack my hospital bag in August, about a month or so before my due date. 29 weeks seems really early.

    1. A month or so is a good time window, especially with basics! Thanks!!

  2. I didn't pack my hospital bag until 3 weeks before. I'm a teacher so I made sure I had it in my car in case I went into labor at school. Turns out, I went into labor at 9:30 at night!!!!!
