Bumpdate: 32 weeks

How big is baby? How cute is this picture? I thought it was pretty funny. Apparently baby girl is the size of a honeydew melon. Yum!

Maternity ClothesYep...although I have a few regular dresses and tops that fit.

Stretch Marks: I found a few more tiny ones. :(  Still not many...thankfully!

Sleep: Getting better. I still end up on the couch almost every night. I can sit up a lot there and still be comfortable. This does not happen in the bed. I'm not waking up at 4:30 every night, which is great. However if I don't wake up then I'm definitely up at 7am!

Best moment of the week? Our 4D ultrasound! We are so thankful to have been asked to do a test ultrasound for a new company in town called Sneak a Peek.  I'm excited for them to be so close (we drove 45 minutes for our early gender--which was worth it) and now we have one right around the corner! If you're in the Columbus area you should definitely check it out!

Girlfriend had her hand to her face 99% of the time!

Movement: She was really active the past few days. Lots of bouncing around!

Food cravings: Iced tea, fruit, a lot of sweets lately (this comes and goes) and I hope it goes away for good after she is born.

Food aversions: Grilled chicken.

Belly button in or out? In...stay in baby!!

What I miss: Not being tired after little things...like grocery shopping. Not running out of breath going up the steps--this is depressing. This all hit hard around 30 weeks. Before that I could carry laundry up from the basement to our bedroom (2 flights of steps). Now I can hardly make it up one flight to the bathroom.

What I'm looking forward to: Painting the nursery!

Milestones:  32 weeksl Every other week check-ups at the doctors.

Nursery: We finally picked a color! We had three different color options and it was hard to pick one. Hopefully we made the right decision. I'll post pictures as it comes together. Our house is still for sale. I'm hoping by putting some paint on the walls and putting the crib up it will magically sell. We're only giving it a few more weeks then taking it off the market until February.

Classes: Baby care class in August! Probably tour in late July or early August as well.

Next appointment: July

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Did you significant other go to a lot of your appointments as you got closer to your due date? J has been at all the big ones but neither one of us felt it was necessary for him to take time off work just to be there for 5 minutes to listen to the heartbeat. If there are problems or I think I may be close to going into labor, I'll totally have him go. We just were not sure if he should be going right now.

  1. Joe came to every appointment but my doctor's office was right by his work and I always scheduled a late afternoon appointment because I would go after school, so it was easy for him to make each one. I would say it wasn't necessary but I did like having him there as we got closer to the end so he could hear all the same things the doctor said.

  2. My husband goes to every appointment. I always tell him he doesn't have to, but he insists. We work (and ride to work) together, so it's easy enough and his time is pretty flexible. Plus I usually have Friday afternoon appointments so he doesn't want to miss out on taking a short day, lol.
I should be very grateful he's so involved...I know everyone doesn't have that. He's the one insisting we take a baby care (ours is August too) and possibly birthing class, and he's read more books than me!

  3. You're getting close to the home stretch!!!
My husband did go to every appointment with baby #1 and baby #2. By the time you reach baby #4, they're over it! ;) Thanks to a new job, the only appointment my husband was able to go to this time was our ultrasound. He does feel horrible that he hasn't heard the heartbeat yet!
Really, though, he isn't going to miss much, and once you start the weekly appointments, with internals, it's a bit awkward for them!
